Marco Carnà. Uova di gallo 1961-1968

Pizziolo, M & Ravasio, R 2024, Marco Carnà. Uova di gallo 1961-1968, enhanced Focus, EdiXion, Milan.

Uova di gallo (Rooster’s Eggs), is the title of a cycle of paintings that Marco Carnà (1929-2021) created in 1964. Starting from this title, which is in itself a declaration of anomaly, the exhibition held in autumn 2024 in Vimercate at MUST – Museo del Territorio, offers the opportunity for a journey through some fifty works that develop coherently, yet in limited edition, an investigation into the rhythm of the sign, into the adventure of geometries.
Impossible eggs that will never hatch, yet precious, self-referential and charged with potential. Will the real Marco Carnà arrive later or is he already here?

Photography as archaeology of the present: news images are transformed into tessellae of a historical mosaic to reconstruct Panama’s most tormented decades. The project stems from collaboration with the Fototeca de Panamá and from the curatorial strategy of combining public archives with family collections and journalistic materials. For thirty years, until 1989, Panama became the theatre of military coups, civil protests, fierce political repression, up to the American invasion. The enhanced version of the volume integrates an immersive soundscape with gunshots, voices and urban noises that restore the dramatic nature of those years. In this match, emerging democracy and major international interests for control of the Canal confronted each other.

Italy. 4,000 years of beauty

Pizziolo, M & Ravasio, R 2026, Italy. 4,000 years of beauty, Discovery, EdiXion, Milan.

Italy is not just a country of art. It is the only place in the world where four thousand years of history have been deposited without interruption, creating a unique, continuous and still readable cultural stratification. Here every epoch has built upon the previous one without erasing it. The result is an extraordinary continuity: ancient temples that become churches, Roman roads that cross Renaissance centres, castles that house contemporary works of art. Italy is the place where the dialogue between past and present allows one to experience the emotion of eternal beauty.
